Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a series of strategic meetings with corps commanders who are currently serving on the most tense sections of the front line. The discussions focused on scaling effective solutions that have already proven their effectiveness at the brigade level, as well as identifying critical needs for armaments on heavy-duty sectors.

Negotiations with commanders of six corps

The meeting took place with the participation of Deputy Head of the President's Office, Pavlo Palitsa. Connected were the heads of six army and airborne assault corps: Dmytro Voloshyn, Artem Bohomolov, Oleksiy Maistrenko, Yevhen Lasiychuk, Sviatoslav Zaits, and Yaroslav Sydorov.

Participants discussed in detail the nature of hostilities in the Sloviansk, Pokrovsk, Kharkiv, and Alexandrovsk directions. Special attention was paid to the program for the fair distribution of personnel, which has been in effect since December and has already demonstrated its effectiveness.

Key requests: from artillery to robotics

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the need to increase supplies of long-range artillery, specifically 155mm shells. In addition, a priority for the Armed Forces remains the expansion of supplies of ground robotic complexes (GRC). Authorities and manufacturers will be involved in creating additional means for medium-range strikes (mid-strikes).

During the dialogue, the corps commanders voiced specific technical and strategic steps to strengthen the defense. The President expressed gratitude to Brigadier General Dmytro Voloshyn for proposals on scaling the successful work of the corps and developing domestic production. The report by General Oleksiy Maistrenko on solving technical problems and the clear vision of troop provisioning by General Yaroslav Sydorov were also noted.

Context of personnel issues in the military department

Events are developing against the backdrop of rumors about a possible change in leadership in the security block. It is noted that the president is considering the possibility of dismissing the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, however, according to journalists, this step will be taken only if a worthy replacement is available.

Criticism of the military leadership is also coming from the Cabinet of Ministers. Former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov publicly declared a conflict with the generals. In his opinion, to win the war, Ukraine needs to replace not only the Commander-in-Chief but also the Chief of the General Staff, Andriy Hnatov.
