Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed decrees extending martial law and mobilization. The document takes effect immediately and will remain in force until at least October 31, 2026.
This information was confirmed by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada. According to parliamentarians, the draft law has already passed all necessary stages of coordination and has been officially registered. This is the 20th extension of the respective regimes since the start of the full-scale invasion.
Consequences of the extension
The extension of martial law and mobilization means that all restrictions introduced in the country due to the war will remain in force for another two years. This applies to both the rules of wartime and the obligations of citizens regarding conscription for active service.
Earlier, the parliament noted that the decision to extend was made taking into account the current situation on the front lines and the need to ensure the country's defense capabilities.
