Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his evening address, shared alarming data obtained by Ukrainian intelligence. According to the head of state, the Kremlin has already prepared conditions for a large-scale expansion of mobilization in Russia and plans to receive significant reinforcements from North Korea.
The Math of Losses and Hidden Mobilization
Zelenskyy presented shocking statistics illustrating the scale of human losses in the Russian army this year. In less than seven months, 221,000 people were conscripted into the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces. At the same time, Russian losses amounted to nearly 225,500 people.
Among the dead and missing are 131,000 people. Another 93,000 were wounded, many of them severely. The President noted that such a high percentage of severe injuries is due to the catastrophic state of field medicine in the Russian army.
"The figures of his losses speak for themselves," Zelenskyy emphasized. He added that Vladimir Putin, whom the Ukrainian President called a dictator, intends to "simply take new Russians to war." According to Zelenskyy, these actions are currently masked by other signals, but preparations for a new wave of mobilization are already in full swing.
The North Korean Factor: 30,000 Soldiers and Ballistics
Special attention in the speech was paid to military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang. Zelenskyy stated that Russia is actively working on obtaining new military contingents from North Korea. According to available information, Russia plans to receive another 30,000 North Korean military personnel.
Preparations to receive this contingent have already begun. Since June, conditions for the accommodation and training of North Korean soldiers have been prepared in the Voronezh region. In addition, North Korea is preparing to transfer new launchers for ballistic missiles to Russia.
Zelenskyy warned that this creates a threat not only for Ukraine but for all of Asia. "This is a threat to everyone in Asia who is within range of North Korean missiles," the President noted. He also pointed to the reverse process: Russia is helping North Korea learn how to conduct combat operations, transferring experience in the real use of weapons, and contributing to the modernization of the North Korean army's armaments.
The Counteraction Plan
Summarizing his speech, Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined the strategy of action for Kyiv and its allies. The main task is to exert sufficient pressure on the Russian Federation so that thoughts about stopping aggression dominate in Moscow, rather than thoughts about new mobilization.
"It is important that we, with our partners, can put enough pressure on Russia so that thoughts of peace become dominant," the head of the Ukrainian state declared. According to him, this is facilitated by long-range operations of Ukrainian troops and the actions of allies aimed at weakening the military potential of the enemy.
