An emergency and strategically important meeting of the General Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief took place in Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for the mobilization of all resources to ensure the army enters August at maximum strength. The main goal declared is preparation for possible escalations and actions by the Russian army during the autumn period.
New interaction format: from the front line to the factory
According to a report by RBK-Ukraine, the head of state held a meeting with corps commanders who are carrying out key combat tasks. This event was a first of its kind: for the first time, representatives from the front line, the defense industry complex, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Finance, and intelligence services gathered in this format.
The meeting was attended by the Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commanders of the 10th, 11th, and 19th Army Corps, as well as representatives of the "Karta" and "Azov" units. This approach allowed for an immediate transition to discussing practical issues arising directly in combat conditions.
Priorities: drones, robots, and artillery
The central item on the agenda was the supply of troops and the elimination of bureaucratic barriers in procurement. Participants discussed the critically important needs of the front, highlighting several key areas:
- Supply of unmanned aerial vehicles of various types and purposes;
- Deployment of ground robotic complexes;
- Provision of long-range artillery ammunition;
- Delivery of specialized equipment for the most tense sectors.
Special attention was paid to identified shortcomings in the operation of certain types of equipment. The President emphasized that feedback from the military must be operational, and manufacturers must instantly eliminate detected problems to prevent losses due to technical failures.
Regularity and control
As a result of the meeting, a decision was made to make this format of interaction permanent. Coordination between the corps, manufacturers, and state structures will be taken over by the Ministry of Defense and the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he would hold similar meetings with other commanders the following day to get a complete picture from the entire corps system of the Defense Forces.
In addition to armament issues, the General Staff discussed strengthening air defense and new tasks for Ukrainian diplomacy. The President thanked the military and manufacturers for their work but emphasized the need for immediate strengthening of the country's defense capabilities by August.
