Dollar Pulls Back, Euro Gains: NBU Sets Exchange Rates for October 22 and Steps Up Currency Interventions

The NBU set the dollar exchange rate at 45.02 UAH (−5 kop.) and the euro at 50.56 UAH (+3 kop.) for October 22. The regulator is selling about $1.2 billion per week, which is 30–35% higher than in the first half of the year, to offset the trade balance deficit.
