Kimi Antonelli started from 19th place and, after Leclerc's crash, made 26 overtakes to win the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. The 19-year-old Mercedes driver became the first Italian to triumph there in 60 years.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Toto Wolff acknowledged that the F1 budget cap of $215 million does not allow Mercedes to match the update pace of McLaren and Ferrari, who are taking risks by spending their cap early in the season.
