According to ISW, over the past 24 hours Russian forces attempted to advance on several front sectors, but counterattacks by the Ukrainian Defense Forces disrupted their progress. No confirmed Russian successes have been recorded.

OP Deputy Head Pavlo Palisa said there is a steady slowdown in the pace of Russian troops' advance on a front about 1,200 km long. Kyiv confirms its course of active defense.

According to an ISW report, on August 26–27, 2026, Ukrainian forces advanced on the Kupiansk and Dobropillia directions and in western Zaporizhzhia region, as confirmed by geolocated footage. Russian claims of capturing several areas are not supported by verification.

According to ISW, over two days the Ukrainian forces advanced in Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts, counterattacked on the Redkodub–Nove sector, and struck Russian rear targets. Kyiv refuted the capture of Nove Konstantynivka.

Zelensky stated that Ukraine will reach parity with Russia in the area of occupied and liberated territories by the end of 2026. Since the beginning of the year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have recovered about 820 sq. km, and the Dnipro region has been almost fully liberated.
