Kyiv prepares for a 'hard winter': 1000 MW of reserve generation and 100 warming points for residents
🏙️ Kyiv is preparing a large-scale "resilience" plan for the winter of 2026.
🔹 **Energy:** The city plans to create 1000 MW of additional thermal generation and launch 200 MW of cogeneration units.
🔹 **Social Protection:** The number of warming points has been doubled — to 100 facilities across the city (10 per district).
🔹 **Budget:** 22 billion UAH has been allocated for preparation. More than 1,000 buildings are already covered by co-financing programs for backup power.
🔹 **Reality:** Officials are calling for realism, considering the enemy's goal — strikes on civilian objects.
