#Ukraine Poland Border

Poland is ready to consider relocating border control with Ukraine to its territory due to strikes on checkpoints, but only in a joint check format and with notification to the European Commission. No decisions have been made yet.

Russian strikes on Ukraine and regular air raids are causing temporary traffic halts at the Ukrainian-Polish border. At certain checkpoints, waiting times for truck clearance reach 40 hours.

From September 20, 2026, the Shehyni – Medyka border crossing will be closed to buses from Ukraine due to repairs on the Polish side. Routes will be redirected to other checkpoints, approximately until November 2027.

According to the SBGS, the Yagodin border crossing on the border with Poland continues to operate in normal mode after Russian strikes. Meanwhile, railway infrastructure in Volyn is being attacked.
