Yagodin border crossing continues to operate in normal mode

As of 11:40 on 13 September 2026, the Yagodin international border crossing, located in Volyn Oblast, continues to operate in normal mode. This was stated in a comment to RBC-Ukraine by Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS). According to him, the Russian occupiers failed to hit the border crossing itself, which is why its operations were not suspended. "The Yagodin border crossing is currently operating in normal mode," the border service representative emphasized.

Strikes on Volyn's railway infrastructure

At the same time, the SBGS spokesperson reported that Russian forces struck railway infrastructure in Volyn Oblast. An official statement on this matter was issued by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, which noted that the enemy's attacks on the railway have been taking place for two consecutive days. "Today in Volyn, two kilometres from the border with Poland, the enemy struck the locomotive of a passenger train. The monitoring group had warned the train crew of the threat in advance, so no one was injured," the statement reads. Monitoring of new aerial threats is ongoing, as is the coordination of train movements.

Kyiv's reaction and appeal to Western partners

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha had earlier reacted to the Russian strike near the Ukrainian-Polish border at Yagodin. According to Interfax, he called on Western partners to "act immediately in response to Russian strikes on the Yagodin border crossing." Thus, the incident on the border with Poland has acquired not only a domestic Ukrainian but also an international diplomatic dimension.

Despite the normal operating mode, Andriy Demchenko warned that enemy attacks in the region are intensifying. This means that the border crossing's operations may be suspended if the security situation requires it.
