China Opens a Laser Communication Link to the Moon: 100 Mbit/s at a Distance of 400,000 km
Chinese scientists have completed orbital tests of bidirectional Earth–Moon laser communication at a rate of up to 100 Mbit/s over a distance of more than 400,000 km. The technology is intended for crewed missions and the construction of a lunar station.
