On the evening of October 12, 2026, the capital of Ukraine once again suffered a severe and destructive attack by the Russian Federation. Well-known Ukrainian radio and TV host and showman Andriy Dzhedzhula shared shocking footage with the public, filmed literally seconds after the hostile strike. At that moment, the artist was in the Arkadia area and driving out of the residential neighborhood with his underage daughter, miraculously escaping direct threat to their lives.

Chronology of the nighttime strike on the Darnnytsia district

According to official data from operational services, an enemy drone attacked a multi-story residential building in the Darnnytsia district of Kyiv. As a result of the direct hit, structures of the building from the 12th to 16th floors suffered severe damage, and powerful fires broke out on the lower levels. The attack claimed the lives of two people: rescuers discovered the body of a 59-year-old woman, as well as another victim inside a car parked near the burning high-rise. In addition, civilians were injured, including a 17-year-old girl who sustained wounds.

Reaction of Ukrainian celebrities and footage from the scene of the tragedy

Andriy Dzhedzhula published emotional video materials on his Instagram, captioning them with the phrase that the footage was taken two seconds after the impact. Besides Dzhedzhula, other famous Ukrainian media personalities became victims or witnesses of this terrorist attack. Thus, a Russian drone damaged the residential complex where actress Ksenia Mishina lives, who confessed that she was very frightened by the explosion. TV presenter Elena Filonova also found herself near the epicenter of the explosion and recorded the fire, worrying about the employees of a nearby beauty salon and the residents of the destroyed house.

Contradictory data

In the information space surrounding the incident, certain discrepancies arose in estimates of the scale of destruction and the types of drones used by various telegram channels and official agencies. While some local publics stated that a modernized long-distance drone with an enhanced warhead was used, state structures clarified the technical characteristics of the device later. In addition, data on the exact number of completely burned vehicles vary: according to some reports, 12 cars and two motorcycles burned down, while eyewitnesses report a larger number of cars damaged by debris and fire in the courtyard.

Consequences and expert assessment of the situation

This tragedy once again demonstrates the systemic nature of strikes on the civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian cities on the eve of the winter period. The destruction of the housing stock and the deaths of civilians provoke a harsh reaction from society and media personalities, who actively use their pages to draw the attention of the international audience to the ongoing aggression. Experts emphasize the need to further strengthen the capital's air defense systems to minimize casualties among the civilian population.
