The main achievement of the operation was the destruction of drone storage facilities belonging to the specialized "Rubicon" unit. This attack significantly weakens the Russian side's capability to use reconnaissance and strike drones on the frontline.

According to the official report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the destruction of UAV storage facilities of the Russian "Rubicon" unit, which took place on September 23, 2026, in the Volnovakha area of the temporarily occupied Donetsk region, has been confirmed. This operation was the result of thorough reconnaissance and coordinated work by artillery and missile units of the Ukrainian army, aimed at systematically dismantling the enemy's logistics chains.

Expanding the Geography of Strikes on Enemy Rears

In addition to destroying the warehouses in Volnovakha, last night Ukrainian fighters launched a series of powerful strikes on other strategic facilities of the Russian army in the combat zone and deep in the rear. In particular, a specialized storage, preparation, and launch site for strike drones was successfully attacked in Donetsk. Simultaneously, a Russian UAV control point came under fire in the Pokrovsk area in Donbas, disrupting the coordination of enemy forces in this sector.

Strategic Significance of Destroying UAV Infrastructure

Experts and Defense Forces representatives emphasize that the systematic destruction of facilities related to unmanned aviation is a top priority of the Ukrainian strategy. The main goal of such operations is to maximally reduce the enemy's ability to use kamikaze drones and reconnaissance devices, thereby protecting civilians and Ukraine's critical infrastructure from regular air attacks.

Aside from targets in the Donetsk direction, Ukrainian forces delivered effective strikes in other operational zones as well. Specifically, a large missile and artillery armament depot was hit in the area of Verkhnokamianske, Luhansk region. At the same time, a concentration area of heavy weaponry and military equipment belonging to Russian units was successfully targeted near Tymoshivka, Zaporizhzhia region.
