The Defense Forces of Ukraine reported the destruction of an Iskander-M missile system launcher in Russia's Kursk Oblast. According to RBC-Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on its Telegram channel. The agency emphasized that every neutralized launching complex reduces the Russian army's ability to carry out ballistic strikes on Ukrainian cities.

Strikes on Enemy Targets

According to the General Staff, on October 29 and during the night of October 30, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine launched new strikes on a number of important enemy targets. Among the hit targets, the agency specifically highlighted the Iskander-M launcher located in Kursk Oblast. The strikes, according to the AFU, were aimed at reducing the fire and offensive capabilities of the Russian side.

Significance of Destroying Launchers

The General Staff explained the tactical significance of the strike: every destroyed Iskander-M launcher, they said, reduces the Russian army's capacity to deliver ballistic strikes on Ukrainian cities. Furthermore, the agency noted that hitting repair units complicates the enemy's efforts to restore damaged equipment and return it to the front lines, while the loss of ammunition depots diminishes its firepower.

Context: Statements by the President of Ukraine

Previously, on October 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reported on the results of strikes against Russian military hardware. According to him, Ukraine carried out two missile strikes that resulted in the destruction of two Russian fighter jets and damage to an Iskander launcher. These statements coincide in timing and nature with the data published by the General Staff of the AFU.

Previously: Strike on Repair Base in Kursk Oblast

Earlier, the Defense Forces of Ukraine claimed a strike on a repair base for Iskander-M missile systems in Russia's Kursk Oblast. Thus, the strikes on elements of the missile system—ranging from launchers to repair infrastructure—represent a series of actions aimed, according to the Ukrainian command, at weakening the enemy's ballistic potential in the border region.
