International technology company and Europe's largest security systems manufacturer Ajax Systems has announced funding for anti-emergency and urgent conservation works at the 'Old Arsenal' architectural monument of national significance, part of the Mystetskyi Arsenal complex.
To recap, on June 15, a Russian drone attack caused severe damage to the main building of the institution. The resulting fire lasted for several hours, destroying about 2,000 sq. m of the roof and upper floors, and damaging the left wing and panoramic windows. Water used during firefighting caused additional damage from the roof down to the basement. Despite the scale of destruction, the unique art collection was entirely preserved with no artworks harmed.
Stages of Recovery and Business Impact
Following the emergency response, the institution conducted comprehensive surveys—architectural-restoration, technical, and chemical-technological—providing a scientifically grounded base for project documentation. Financial support from Ajax Systems enables immediate conservation measures to protect the building while detailed restoration projects are being developed.
Mystetskyi Arsenal Director General Olesya Ostrovska-Lyuta emphasized the importance of such business engagement for preserving cultural heritage. Alexander Konotopskyi, founder and chairman of the supervisory board of Ajax Systems, stated that protection is the company's core expertise, making the preservation of Ukrainian culture a natural mission.
