In August 2026, DTEK energy workers restored electricity to nearly 4.5 million homes across four regions and in Kyiv after Russian shelling. The most work was done in Donetsk Oblast: 2.6 million homes.

In the center of Kyiv, a protective framework that had covered the monument to Bohdan Khmelnytsky on Sofiivska Square for over four years against rocket and drone debris has been dismantled. The monument has been cleared of vegetation and is once again fully open.
