Pethouse and Gostomel Shelter have launched the AdoptMe Days Online large-scale initiative, which takes place in October and November across social media. The project aims to help 16 dogs and 14 cats from ten Ukrainian shelters find loving families. Unlike previous years when the event was held in a festival format, this time interaction with the animals has moved online due to restrictions on public gatherings and security concerns in Kyiv.

How the Online Adoption Format Works

Professional photo shoots and detailed profiles containing information about character, habits, health status, and future home requirements were prepared for each of the 30 participating animals. These stories are published on the official AdoptMe Days page and through the social media accounts of the project's ambassadors. Anyone wishing to adopt must fill out an application form, undergo an interview with a curator, and sign an adoption agreement.

Star Ambassadors of the Project

Twenty-one public figures have joined the campaign, including actresses Antonina Khyzhniak and Anastasiia Ivaniuk, Tember Blanche lead singer Sasha Ganapolska, the band MOLODI, Shields Ukraine Director Tetiana Tverdokhlib, and popular bloggers. Each ambassador represents a specific cat or dog on their social networks, sharing their ward's unique story and drawing attention to stray animal issues.

Difficult Fates and Rescue Stories

Among the project participants are many animals with challenging backgrounds. Trufel the dog spent the first year of his life on a balcony and ended up in a shelter after his owner died. Glasha the cat was evacuated from Kramatorsk after a guided bomb hit her building. Mishka the dog was found exhausted in a box by the road between the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, while Patron is looking for experienced adults after his previous owners surrendered him.

Support for Future Owners and Statistics

The organizers guarantee comprehensive support for those who decide to adopt: they completely cover the pet's transportation to any region of Ukraine, provide a starter kit of essential items, and pay for the first veterinary clinic consultation. AdoptMe Days has been running since 2023, with 2,483 cats and dogs finding homes over this period, and another 152 animals adopted following the July 2026 festival.
