Ukrainian artist BAH.ROMA (Roman Bakharev) presented a special version of the track "Na Hlybini," recorded in collaboration with a choir of more than 100 participants. According to the artist's press office, the release was timed to Ukraine's Independence Day and resulted from the coming together of several choral communities in Kyiv. Among the choristers are Ukrainians from the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions, some of whom were forced to leave their homes because of the full-scale war. The new arrangement is built on the performer's voice and guitar, which were complemented by a large-scale choral sound.
From a personal story to a shared voice
BAH.ROMA himself explained the decision to return to the track as a desire to keep in it "only what is essential — the voice and the guitar." In his words, when more than 100 voices are added to this minimalist foundation, "something greater than just a new arrangement happens," and the song's personal story "stops being only mine." Choir conductor Valentyna Levchenko emphasized that the participants have different war experiences, yet the feeling of loneliness disappears while they sing together: "Everyone has their own story and their own experience of war and the struggle for independence, but when we start singing together, a shared voice emerges." By the artist's design, the new version became a dedication to Ukraine on Independence Day.
Video on the roof of Taryan Towers
The music video for the new version of "Na Hlybini" was shot on the roof of the Taryan Towers residential complex, with a panoramic view of Kyiv. According to the artist's team, this location was used for the first time for shooting a music video. The director was Katya Klym, who had previously collaborated with BAH.ROMA on the video for the track "Bozhevoliю." In the frames published as part of the release presentation, the artist, in a light shirt with a high collar, plays a guitar with a Takamine logo on the headstock, while white drapery and the wooden floor of the platform are visible in the background.
Charitable context and the history of the composition
The release of "Na Hlybini" is not BAH.ROMA's first return to this theme. In 2022, the artist released a Ukrainian-language version of the track, the proceeds of which exceeded 1 million hryvnia and were directed to the AZOV.ONE fund. This time, too, there is a charitable purpose: the artist's team is raising funds for the "Ravlyk" (Snail) humanitarian project for the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to BAH.ROMA's press office, since the start of the full-scale invasion the artist has raised a total of more than 10 million hryvnia in support of Ukrainian military personnel. Thus, the new version of the hit continues the line of the performer's socially significant music projects, linking his art with direct support for the country in wartime.
