Preliminary data on the cause of death of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has emerged in the United States. According to Associated Press, as reported by RBC-Ukraine, the politician likely died from an aortic dissection against the background of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Forensic Experts' Version

According to forensic experts, aortic rupture caused by chronic vascular disease is considered the primary cause of the tragedy. However, the final verdict will be issued only after the completion of a full range of studies, including toxicological analysis and microscopic examination of tissues.

Donald Trump's Reaction

US President Donald Trump reacted to the news of his colleague's death, stating that he viewed Graham as a "family member" and is deeply grieving this loss. The White House chief shared details of his last communication with the senator: they spoke on Saturday evening, immediately after the politician's return from Ukraine. According to Trump, at that moment Graham "sounded a bit tired, but quite normal".

Last Trip to Kyiv

A few days before his death, Lindsey Graham visited Kyiv. During the visit, the senator held meetings with Ukrainian leadership and made a number of statements. The main topics of his speeches concerned strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia, continuing support for the Ukrainian army, and discussing possible ways to end the military conflict.

The investigation into the circumstances of the politician's death is ongoing. Forensic experts are awaiting the results of additional laboratory tests. Only after obtaining the full picture will the official final cause of Lindsey Graham's death be named, although at this time the version of aortic dissection remains the leading one.
