The logistics center of the NOVUS supermarket chain became one of the targets of a massive missile attack launched by Russia. According to the company, the facility sustained several direct hits, resulting in severe damage. Photos of the aftermath demonstrate the scale of the destruction: burnt structures, collapsed roofs, and emergency vehicles operating against a backdrop of smoke.
Complete shutdown and rescue of personnel
As a result of the strike, the operations of the logistics center have been completely halted. This is already the second strike on the facility, which the company calls the "heart of the entire network." It is from here that products begin their daily journey to NOVUS stores. Despite the critical condition of the building, the company reports an important fact: during the air raid alert, all employees were in the shelter. Thanks to this, there are no casualties among the staff and partners.
Cleanup and damage assessment
Cleanup efforts following the missile attack and fire are ongoing at the scene. Specialists are assessing the scale of the destruction to determine how quickly some functions of the facility can be restored. Fire trucks and lifting cranes working on the territory of the damaged complex can be seen in the photos.
Logistics restructuring and network operations
Despite the loss of a key hub, the company assures that it is already restructuring its operations. The team is working on redistributing inventory between other sites. "We are doing everything possible so that our customers do not feel the consequences of this attack," noted the NOVUS press service.
Context of the night attack
The strike on the logistics center occurred as part of a massive attack on Kyiv and the region. As a result of the night shelling, fires broke out in residential buildings, warehouses, and office buildings. A sorting center of one of the postal operators was also destroyed, forcing the company to urgently change its logistics chains.
In the Kyiv region, the number of casualties and injured from the night attack has increased. At least 17 people were killed and 36 were injured. Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Taruta stated that the government has urgently convened a meeting with business representatives to discuss the consequences of the attack and measures to support enterprises.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported a reduction in missile supplies for air defense systems, which complicates the protection of the Ukrainian sky during such large-scale attacks.
