A massive flag of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was lifted into the air over Kyiv Oblast using a drone. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing footage from the Dronarium Academy YouTube channel.

Patriotic event on Military Intelligence Day

The event was organized by the Dronarium Academy team with the support of military intelligence and was timed to coincide with the professional holiday — Ukraine's Military Intelligence Day, which is observed on September 7. According to the organizers, the main goal of the action was to honor the heroism and the significant contribution of GUR fighters in defending the country both during the full-scale war and in peacetime.

"Drone flights are our way of saying thank you"

"For us, it is an honor to thank military intelligence and all its warriors in the way we do best — drone flights," said Ruslan Belyaev, founder of Dronarium Academy. The flag bearing the directorate's emblem, raised over the region, became the central element of the visual message addressed to the intelligence officers and the public.

Not the first large-scale drone project

This is not the first time the team has used unmanned technology to raise national and military symbols. In 2020, at the request of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry, the academy's specialists lifted a 200-meter state flag into the sky on Independence Day. On August 24, 2022, as part of the "Army of Drones" initiative, the battle flags of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were raised into the air.

Context of the professional holiday

September 7 is Military Intelligence Day in Ukraine. On the occasion of this holiday, the GUR's special unit "Artan" presented a video manifesto dedicated to Ukrainian intelligence officers. Thus, the Dronarium Academy action became part of a series of public events timed to the department's professional holiday.
