Drone attacks continue in Chernihiv. This was reported by the head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, in his Telegram channel. According to him, as a result of the strike on the city, one of the industrial facilities was damaged, and a fire broke out at the site.
The first explosions in the city were recorded around 6:30 AM. An RBC-Ukraine correspondent confirms these data, noting that information regarding the scale of the destruction is being clarified.
Consequences of the attack
Preliminary data indicates that one person sustained shrapnel wounds during the shelling. Details regarding the condition of the injured and the exact nature of the damage to the facility are currently unknown.
These events are taking place against the backdrop of a large-scale air campaign. Over the past night, Russia launched 181 drones at Ukrainian territory. The Ukrainian Air Force has confirmed new strikes on various targets.
Context of escalation
The situation with shelling remains tense in other regions as well. For example, on August 2, Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia twice using guided aerial bombs (KAB). As a result of these strikes, one person was killed and 31 others were injured.
