On the night of November 4, the Russian defense department reported a new massive attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to data provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense forces intercepted and destroyed over 700 drones; in an updated report by the department, the figure exceeds 709 UAVs. According to the headline of the briefing, 15 regions of the country came under fire. As in previous similar cases, the Russian department traditionally does not disclose how many drones Ukraine actually used during this attack, so independent verification of the stated figure is not possible.

Scale of the attack according to the Russian Ministry of Defense

The Russian defense department claims that Ukrainian UAVs attempted to hit targets over the territories of several constituent entities at once, but the complete list of regions is not provided in the public report. The only quantitative benchmark given by the department is the number of intercepted devices: more than 700, according to updated data — over 709. Since the Russian Ministry of Defense does not publish data on the number of launched drones, the "launched vs. shot down" ratio remains unknown, and the stated figure reflects only the version of one party to the conflict.

Ozon logistics complex in Adygeysk damaged

As a result of the drone attack, the logistics complex of the Ozon marketplace in Adygeysk was damaged. The company reported that all facility workers were evacuated, and according to preliminary data, no one was injured. At the time of preparation of the material, there was no information on the exact scale of the damage or whether a fire broke out at the facility. The complex temporarily stopped accepting goods from sellers, and cargo already heading to this warehouse is being redirected to other network logistics facilities.

How Ozon will operate after the attack

The marketplace press service clarified that goods from the damaged facility will be temporarily removed from the catalog, and orders that cannot be fulfilled will be canceled. At the same time, customers can continue to place new orders as usual: they will be processed and delivered from other company logistics centers. Thus, the disruption primarily affected internal logistics and part of the assortment, rather than the general shopping process.

Context: long-range strikes and the Starshield issue

Against the backdrop of this attack, the Ukrainian side previously reported hitting two important targets in Omsk, for which, according to RBC-Ukraine, the drones had to cover more than 2,500 km. Separately, the media field is discussing the issue of expanding Ukraine's access to the Starshield system to conduct operations on Russian territory, which is reportedly being raised in the US. These episodes indicate that nighttime strikes and counter-strikes over significant distances are becoming a steady element of the current phase of the conflict.

At the time of publication, the picture of the attack's consequences remains incomplete: departmental briefings provide only a one-sided assessment of the number of downed drones, and data on civilian infrastructure damage is limited to Ozon's own statement. The dynamics regarding the number of casualties, the scale of damage, and possible fires may be updated as new information arrives.
