Eighth night of the war: The US launches a massive strike on Iran in response to the death of soldiers in Jordan

In addition to the goal of retribution, the US has a clear strategic objective. The Trump administration intends to clear the way for merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has long threatened shipping in this narrow passage, which is critical for the global economy. Now, the US plans to deprive Tehran of the ability to block sea routes.
