Ukrainian businesses are facing a serious challenge: delays in reviewing documents for extending critical status can lead to the loss of privileges and the risk of personnel mobilization. Lawyers warn that bureaucratic nuances can put the functioning of key enterprises at risk.
The illusion of deadlines and real risks
Nikolay Sirenko, a lawyer at the law firm "Prykhodko & Partners," revealed details of the situation in a comment to RBC-Ukraine. According to him, the officially stated review period of up to 10 working days does not, in practice, account for the time required for internal preparation and careful verification of documentation.
As a result, the actual processing time for the status may be delayed by at least twice as long. This creates a dangerous risk zone for those planning to submit documents at the last moment.
A survival strategy for business
The expert strongly recommends that entrepreneurs not delay submitting documents until the last days of August. Any delay during this period risks the enterprise temporarily losing its critical object status. This, in turn, automatically removes protection from employees, making them vulnerable to mobilization.
The situation is exacerbated by the Ukrainian government's decision to update the criteria for granting critical status. Consequently, the statuses of all critical enterprises are subject to review, requiring maximum speed and clarity of action from businesses.
