On Thursday, October 29, 2026, the Ukrainian currency market displays mixed dynamics for key currencies. As of the morning, a noticeable contrast is observed between quotations in non-banking exchange offices and the cash desks of the country's largest commercial banks regarding the US dollar and the euro.
Situation in Exchange Offices
According to the analytical portal Minfin, on the morning of October 29, the average dollar exchange rate in exchangers rose to 46.60 hryvnias for purchase and 46.29 hryvnias for sale, adding 30 and 29 kopecks respectively. At the same time, the European currency in non-banking exchange points also demonstrated growth. Buying euros in exchangers averages 51.90 hryvnias, while selling is at 51.50 hryvnias, which is 15 kopecks higher than previous figures.
Dynamics of Cash Currency in Banks
Meanwhile, at the cash desks of most commercial banks in Ukraine, cash currency showed an opposite trend toward cheaper rates. The average purchase rate for the dollar in banks was recorded at 46.04 hryvnias, and the sale rate at 45.42 hryvnias. The European currency in bank branches also decreased in price: the average purchase cost amounted to 51.39 hryvnias, and the sale cost was 50.64 hryvnias.
Policy of Leading Commercial Banks
The country's largest financial institutions have set their own quotations for cash currency and cashless transactions. PrivatBank sells dollars at cash desks for 45.85 hryvnias, while maintaining a card rate of 45.87 hryvnias, whereas euros in the bank's branches were realized at 51.25 hryvnias. Oщаdbank offers dollar purchases via mobile application at 45.85 hryvnias, and for bank cards, the rate is 46.06 hryvnias. PUMB keeps the cash dollar price at 46.10 hryvnias, and Monobank sells the American currency at 45.86 hryvnias with the euro rate at 51.26 hryvnias.
Conclusions and Market Prospects
The current situation on the currency market reflects the persistence of local imbalances between the cash segment of exchange offices and the banking system. Such fluctuations demonstrate the flexibility of the Ukrainian financial market amidst ongoing macroeconomic instability. Market participants recommend that citizens take into account the difference in rates when planning currency exchange operations and monitor further official updates.
