From July 15, 2026, new fares for public transport in Kyiv come into effect. A single trip now costs 30 hryvnias. This decision, signed by Mayor Vitali Klitschko on July 10, covers the metro, buses, trolleybuses, trams, and the funicular. The system of benefits remains unchanged.

Validity period of old trips

For owners of "Kyiv Digital" transport cards, a key question arises: what to do with unused trips purchased at the old rates? The Kyiv City State Administration (KGGA) clarified that all remaining trips must be used by September 15, 2026.

After this date, unused trips will not be voided — their cost will be automatically converted into a monetary equivalent and credited to the card's "Wallet". For example, if 10 trips purchased at 6.50 hryvnias each remain on the card, 65 hryvnias will be credited to the wallet.

How to activate the wallet and use funds

To use the "Wallet" function, users need to update the "Kyiv Digital" app to the latest version. After that, new trips can be purchased using funds accumulated in the wallet directly through the app.

However, if you need to purchase a monthly pass, a student ticket, or another special product using wallet funds — you must contact technical support. Such operations are not performed automatically.

Discount system remains

Despite the fare increase, a discount system for monthly passes is provided for regular passengers. This helps reduce the budget burden for those who use city transport daily.

The new rules come into effect as early as Wednesday, July 15. Residents of the capital are advised to check their card balances in advance and plan the use of remaining trips to avoid losing money.
