On the morning of August 2, the suburbs of Kharkiv were subjected to a new attack by Russian forces. The target of the drone strike was a major logistics facility — a postal terminal. The incident occurred against the backdrop of a large-scale night attack, during which more than 130 attack drones were launched across Ukraine.
Fire at the postal terminal
The circumstances of the incident were confirmed by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleksiy Synegubov, in his Telegram channel. According to him, the enemy strike hit the terminal infrastructure directly. As a result of the drone impact, trucks, containers, and specialized equipment caught fire.
The situation at the scene remains tense. Firefighting units and rescue workers continue to work to eliminate the consequences of the attack. Fortunately, preliminary data indicates that there were no casualties or injuries among the terminal staff.
Scale of strikes on Ukraine
The attack on Kharkiv was part of a large-scale operation by Russian forces. On the night of August 2, the launch of 133 attack drones was recorded across various directions. Ukraine's air defense forces managed to intercept and shoot down the majority of enemy drones, although some managed to breach the defenses.
According to official data, 24 drone hits were recorded at 19 locations. Additionally, debris from shot-down drones fell on three other objects. This indicates a high intensity of air threat in the region.
Consequences of the series of strikes
The attack on the postal terminal is not an isolated incident. During previous strikes on Kharkiv and the region, significant material losses have already been inflicted. For example, the day before, a book train of the publishing corporation "Ranok" caught fire in the city as a result of a Russian strike; it also served as a distribution center for the "Knygoland" network. Millions of books were destroyed in the fire, which became a serious loss for the country's cultural sector.
Another tragic episode occurred on the morning of August 1, when Russian forces attacked the warehouse facilities of the ROZETKA network on the outskirts of Brovary. As a result of this strike, one person was killed and others were injured. These events highlight the growing threat to civilian infrastructure and the lives of the population in border regions.

The authorities of the Kharkiv region continue to monitor the situation and coordinate the actions of rescue services. At the same time, Ukrainian authorities are urging the population to remain vigilant and follow safety recommendations.
