Ukrainian retailers have updated their pricing policy for basic food products. According to an RBC-Ukraine monitoring conducted on August 4, the most noticeable changes affected eggs and vegetable oil. While some items have become cheaper, other categories, such as bakery products and milk, have remained stable.
Eggs and buckwheat: price drop at Silpo
One of the key events of the week was the decrease in the price of eggs at the Silpo chain. A dozen "Pashot" category eggs became cheaper: the price dropped from 43.88 hryvnias to 39.59 hryvnias. This is a significant reduction, making the product more accessible to a wide range of buyers. Auchan also recorded a price drop, but it concerns the sale of eggs by the piece.
The situation in the cereal category is also favorable for consumers. The cost of buckwheat ranges from 55 to 70 hryvnias per kilogram. Silpo is again the leader in affordability, offering the cheapest option with a 15% discount.
Bread and milk: stability on the shelves
The bakery products category demonstrated complete price stability. The most advantageous offer in the sliced bread segment remains the portioned packaging at Silpo. Prices for pasteurized milk have also not changed compared to previous days, remaining at the same level.
Sunflower oil and promotions
In the vegetable oil segment, Silpo updated its product line with a volume of 0.5 liters, which allowed lowering the average price in this category. At the same time, the minimum price threshold for half-liter bottles of oil is maintained by the Auchan chain.
Thus, the current situation in the Ukrainian food market is characterized by targeted price reductions on key goods while maintaining stability in other categories. Buyers can count on advantageous offers at Silpo and Auchan for eggs, buckwheat, and oil.
