Active work is underway in Kyiv to form the new government composition. In the morning, in addition to a meeting with deputies of the 'Servant of the People' faction, another closed meeting took place dedicated to personnel issues for the future Cabinet of Ministers.
Key figures in the negotiations
According to sources, the closed consultations included Serhiy Koretsky himself, former Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, as well as the top leadership of the ruling party and parliament. Participants included Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, First Deputy Speaker Oleksandr Korniyenko, head of the 'Servant of the People' faction David Arahamia, and his deputy Andriy Motovilovets.
Special attention was paid to coordinating positions with the Office of the President. During consultations with the Head of the OP Kyrylo Budanov, the parties discussed specific candidates. As a source told RBC-Ukraine, it was at this stage that personnel priorities were determined. Currently, the process has moved to the phase of active negotiations with parliamentarians and officials — both current ones and those being considered for replacement.
Action plan and the role of the President
Today, Serhiy Koretsky met with deputies of the 'Servant of the People' faction as the main candidate for the position of Prime Minister. During the conversation, he presented his vision for the work of the future government and its structure. People's Deputy Olha Vasylevska-Smaglyuk clarified that this meeting took place without the participation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
However, the final note in the formation of the team is scheduled for the evening. It is expected that the package of candidates for the new Cabinet composition will be finally approved with the direct participation of the head of state. According to sources, Koretsky is the main contender for the post of head of government, although his candidacy has not yet been officially presented.
Expected vote in the Rada
The procedure for approving the new Prime Minister should be completed in the coming days. The Verkhovna Rada plans to consider the appointment issue on Thursday, July 16. This event will become a key stage in the country's political life, determining the vector of the executive branch's work for the near future.
