Ukraine has achieved a significant breakthrough in its defense industry, transforming into one of the world's leaders in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the country's major successes in this field during solemn events dedicated to Ukrainian Statehood Day in Kyiv.

From Skepticism to Reality

In his speech, the head of state touched upon the history of implementing the ambitious plan to develop the drone industry. Zelenskyy recalled that the initial goal he had previously announced had caused serious distrust both within the country and abroad. Initially, the plan provided for the release of one million drones annually.

"I remember when I first publicly announced the state plan: 1 million drones a year. There was a lot of skepticism everywhere: both inside and outside," the president shared, noting that criticism was widespread.

Tenfold Growth and New Goals

Today, the situation has changed drastically. According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine has not only fulfilled the initial plan but has exceeded it many times over. At present, the country produces 10 million drones per year. This is a tenfold increase over the initial forecast, which many considered unrealistic.

However, Kyiv is not stopping at this achievement. The President announced plans to further double production volumes. "And now we can state: we are making 10 million drones a year. 10, and it will be 20," he emphasized, outlining a new strategic goal.

International Partnership

Achieving such indicators has become possible thanks to the consolidation of efforts. Zelenskyy assured that the implementation of the plan to increase production to 20 million units will be carried out jointly with international partners. This indicates that the Ukrainian drone industry has already become part of global supply chains and technological cooperation.
