Fuel market overview: stability and isolated price drops

As of Monday, August 17, 2026, the Ukrainian automotive fuel market demonstrates a general trend towards stabilization. Most major service networks have kept prices at the level of last Friday, however, a price reduction for several fuel types has been recorded in one of the leading networks. In conditions where inflationary expectations remain high, even minor price fluctuations attract the close attention of car owners and analysts.

'Ukrnafta' maintains leadership in minimum prices

The lowest prices for A-95 gasoline are still offered by the state company 'Ukrnafta' — 78.90 UAH/l. This makes the network the most attractive for those looking for a budget refueling option. In commercial networks OKKO and WOG, standard A-95 costs 82.90 UAH/l, which is 4 hryvnias more expensive than the market leader. The most expensive A-95 gasoline remains at SOCAR gas stations, where the price is 85.40 UAH/l. Such a price spread within one fuel category indicates different pricing policies of players: from an aggressive dumping strategy to positioning as a premium service.

Dynamics of diesel and autogas prices

The minimum price for diesel fuel is also fixed at 'Ukrnafta' gas stations — 89.90 UAH/l. In OKKO and WOG networks, the cost is 93.90 UAH/l, while premium fuel brands in these same networks reach 96.90–98.90 UAH/l. In the liquefied gas (propane-butane) segment, the situation is similar: the cheapest gas can be refueled at 'Ukrnafta' for 42.90 UAH/l. At OKKO and SOCAR, the price holds at 43.90 UAH/l, while the highest price remains at WOG — 44.50 UAH/l. The price difference for gas between networks is about 1.60 UAH/l, which can provide a noticeable saving when filling a full cylinder.

Price reduction in the WOG network: a strategic move or a temporary promotion?

The WOG network became the only major player to lower prices in the current reporting period. The cost of 95 Euro gasoline was reduced by 60 kopecks — from 83.50 UAH/l to 82.90 UAH/l. At the same time, Euro-5 diesel fuel and premium Mustang diesel became cheaper by 90 kopecks, reaching marks of 93.90 UAH/l and 96.90 UAH/l respectively. Experts note that such targeted reductions may be a reaction to changes in exchange rates or the optimization of logistics chains, however, it is still too early to talk about the beginning of a global trend towards cheaper fuel.

Contradictory data

While RBC-Ukraine and other sources report price stability and isolated reductions in the WOG network, analysts from other media (for example, UNIAN) warn about the possible overcoming of the psychological mark in the near future. Some experts believe that current stability is only a temporary lull before a new wave of growth, associated with seasonal demand and global fluctuations in oil prices. Others, on the contrary, point out that the market has already reached its peak and further price reduction is inevitable. These discrepancies in forecasts create uncertainty for consumers and require careful monitoring of the situation.
