As of Friday, August 21, 2026, several major gas station networks in Ukraine updated their price tags with reductions. The price cuts affected both gasoline and diesel fuel grades. Adjustments were recorded in two networks—SOCAR and Ukrnafta—though the scale and nature of the changes differ: one involves a uniform reduction across almost the entire lineup, while the other is a targeted promotion on a single gasoline grade.

What became cheaper at SOCAR

The SOCAR network lowered the cost of almost its entire liquid fuel lineup. All types of gasoline—NANO 100, NANO 95, and A-95—dropped by 50 kopecks per liter. Diesel fuel in the NANO Extro and NANO grades saw a price drop of 1 UAH per liter. Thus, in this network, the reduction affected both gasoline and diesel simultaneously, making it one of the notable participants in today's price correction.

Ukrnafta promotion: 95 Energy gasoline

Ukrnafta took a different approach: as part of a promotion, the company lowered the price of only one type of gasoline—the 95 (Energy) grade. The reduction was significant: a drop of 3 UAH per liter, from 81.90 UAH to 78.90 UAH. As a result, this grade is now priced the same as regular A-95, effectively eliminating the price difference between premium and standard gasoline in this network.

LPG and unchanged positions

Not all items in the updated price lists changed. At SOCAR, the price of LPG (auto gas) remained fixed at 43.90 UAH per liter. At Ukrnafta, previous prices were maintained for other items: A-92, A-95, 98 Energy, diesel fuel, and gas. In other words, the reduction in this network is a targeted, promotional move rather than a general price list revision.

Contradictory data

An analysis of publications regarding fuel price dynamics in Ukraine in August 2026 shows that the direction of price changes varied across different periods and networks. Some materials record price increases at gas stations on certain days, whereas on August 21, a decrease was recorded at SOCAR and Ukrnafta. This discrepancy is explained by the fact that price adjustments occur asynchronously across networks and dates: what looks like a general price drop on one date may be accompanied by targeted price hikes in other networks on another. Therefore, when assessing the "average" trend, it is important to rely on a specific date and specific network, rather than generalized statements.

Context of price dynamics

The decrease on August 21 should be viewed in the context of the ongoing volatility of Ukraine's fuel market, where prices are sensitive to logistics, currency factors, and the pricing policies of individual networks. For consumers, the practical conclusion is clear: on the day of publication, refueling with gasoline and diesel at SOCAR, and under the promotion at Ukrnafta (95 Energy grade), became cheaper than before, while LPG and several other grades maintained their previous levels. Future trends will depend on the networks' decisions in the coming days.
