Glovo has issued an official statement after a high-profile video began rapidly spreading across Ukrainian social media and video hosting platforms. In the video, a serviceman from the 425th Separate Assault Regiment with the call sign "Kiyanyin" voiced accusations against the popular delivery service, claiming that Russian servicemen may have infiltrated the rear regions of Ukraine disguised as couriers. According to the soldier, two men allegedly arrived in Kyiv from the combat zone in the Sumy region, worked in the capital in delivery service uniforms for several months, and were subsequently detained by border guards while attempting to flee to Belarus.
Courier verification procedure within the service
Amidst the public discussion, the company's management provided detailed explanations regarding the multi-stage personnel verification system. The press service emphasized that as of the official response, the company has no documentary evidence or proof that Russian army servicemen actually fulfilled orders under the platform's brand. The registration process for new couriers requires mandatory uploading of identity documents, such as a passport or ID card, after which the files undergo initial electronic verification.
In-person verification and financial restrictions
In addition to the remote verification stage, the company's regulations provide for a mandatory in-person procedure during initial onboarding, where service representatives personally cross-check the presented original documents with application data. An additional security barrier is a strict financial limitation: all cashless payments for completed orders are made exclusively to bank details opened in Ukrainian financial institutions in the name of the registered courier. Glovo also categorically reminded that transferring a personal account to a third party is strictly prohibited by the platform's rules and entails immediate and irreversible blocking of the violator's profile.
Cooperation with law enforcement agencies
Representatives of the delivery service announced their complete openness and readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to establish the objective truth and verify all details voiced in the video materials. Company management emphasizes that customer safety, transparency of operational processes, and unconditional support for Ukrainian society remain unchanged and top business priorities amidst the ongoing full-scale war.
