Member of the Ukrainian Parliament Oleksii Гончаренко has found himself at the center of a major political scandal resulting in his profile being added to the infamous Peacemaker (Mirotvorets) database. This event occurred on October 6, 2026, and serves as a logical continuation of rapidly developing events, including the politician's resonant statements regarding the need for a diplomatic settlement of the conflict and his recent expulsion from the parliamentary faction.

Reasons for Inclusion in the Peacemaker Database

According to publicly available information, the creators of the Peacemaker database incriminate the lawmaker in actions they classify as aimed at demoralizing Ukrainian society and obstructing mobilization measures. Such a harsh reaction followed immediately after the politician voiced his vision for the further development of the situation at the front and the prospects for a peaceful dialogue.

Goncharenko's Position and His Scandalous Statements

The direct trigger for such a sharp public and political reaction was Oleksii Goncharenko's public statements made on October 2. Specifically, the parliamentarian called on the Ukrainian leadership and society to initiate a negotiation process with Russia. In his opinion, the primary task should be to reach agreements on stopping strikes against critical infrastructure: ports, industrial enterprises, educational institutions, medical facilities, residential buildings, and transport arteries.

Only after successfully resolving humanitarian and basic security issues, the deputy believes, could discussions move on to more complex geopolitical topics, including the status of Donbas and the possible consolidation of Ukraine's neutral status. Such calls provoked sharp rejection both among the radically minded part of society and among his political associates in parliament.

Expulsion from the European Solidarity Faction

Just a day before being added to the Peacemaker database, on October 5, Goncharenko's political weight and status in the Verkhovna Rada suffered a serious blow. The leadership of the European Solidarity parliamentary faction officially announced the expulsion of the deputy from its ranks. As the official reason, the party leadership cited deep ideological differences, emphasizing that the MP's rhetoric regarding the end of the war and the country's future security architecture diverged cardinally from the political force's principled stance.

Representatives of European Solidarity specifically noted that Ukraine's sovereignty, independence, euro-integration course, national identity, and the right to independently form the national security system cannot be subject to any compromises. Notably, formally Goncharenko was not a member of the party itself, but he was part of the faction of the same name in the Verkhovna Rada.
