In the world of computer enthusiasm, an event has occurred that could radically change the performance of the new generation of graphics cards. Renowned developer and overclocking legend Yuriy Bublik, better known by the pseudonym 1usmus, has released a major update to his famous utility HYDRA — version 2.3B Pro. This release is aimed at removing the strict software limitations imposed by NVIDIA on the GeForce RTX 50 series, giving users access to the full potential of GDDR7 memory and power consumption.
Removing barriers: from 34 to 36 Gbps
Before the release of the HYDRA 2.3B Pro update, users of the RTX 50 series graphics cards faced an artificial "ceiling" when overclocking video memory. The standard limits set by the manufacturer restricted the GDDR7 speed to a range of 30–34 Gbps. Higher frequencies, reaching 36 Gbps, were available exclusively for the flagship RTX 5080 model, which originally came with more aggressive factory settings. Now, thanks to the utility's new algorithm, this barrier has been removed for the entire RTX 50 lineup, allowing enthusiasts to squeeze the maximum out of the memory chips.
Breakthrough in power consumption: Power Limit up to 125%
In addition to working with memory, the HYDRA 2.3B Pro update solves the problem of power consumption limits. In standard utilities, such as MSI Afterburner, the power limit (Power Limit) for RTX 50 graphics cards is often strictly locked at 100–110%. The new version of the program allows raising this figure to 125% on models from any vendor. This means that the graphics card can consume more energy to maintain higher clock speeds for a long time, which is critical for stability under heavy loads.
Safety and absence of modifications
One of the key advantages of HYDRA 2.3B Pro is the safety of the method. Yuriy Bublik emphasizes that achieving these results does not require flashing a third-party vBIOS, modifying official drivers, or using system vulnerabilities. All changes are implemented by the program itself at the level of interaction with the hardware, which minimizes the risk of equipment damage or loss of warranty. During a demonstration using an ASUS ROG Astral LC GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card, memory bandwidth reached an impressive 2.3 TB/s, confirming the effectiveness of the new toolkit.
Availability and future plans
As of August 19, 2026, the full functionality of HYDRA 2.3B Pro is available exclusively to the author's paid subscribers on the Patreon platform. This is a temporary restriction intended to support the developer. However, Bublik has already announced plans to release the full functionality into the public domain in the near future, allowing a wide range of users to take advantage of hyper-overclocking capabilities without financial investment.
