On the Day of the Territorial Defense of Ukraine, an official presentation of a touching music video and single titled "Dobrovoltsi TrO" took place in Kyiv. This project is dedicated to honoring the courage and resilience of servicemen and veterans of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fallen heroes, as well as expressing support for prisoners of war and families who are tirelessly waiting for their loved ones to return home. The premiere has drawn significant public attention and become an important cultural event of the year.
Creators and Creative Concept
The composition was created on the official initiative of the NGO "Women of the TRO". The author of the deep and poignant lyrics is Davyd Steblyuk, and Yuriy Safronov became the performer of the track. The visual presentation was developed by TRO Media teams in cooperation with the "Cultural Forces" creative union. The video is based on unique documentary footage from 2022, capturing historical moments of the formation of volunteer units, evacuation and assistance to the civilian population, and the daily combat work of defenders.
Heroes of Our Time and the Price of Freedom
The main characters of the music video are ordinary citizens who, at the critical moment of the full-scale invasion, exchanged peaceful professions for military uniforms. The song details the heavy price of freedom, the years of bloody war, the unbreakable memory of fallen brothers-in-arms, and the expectations of those waiting for the missing or languishing in captivity. The organizers emphasize that behind every statistic lies a human destiny and a conscious choice.
Semantic Emphases and Companion Initiatives
According to Maryna Bogush, the founder of the NGO "Women of the TRO", and Nina Kovalik, a representative of the organization, the project aims to preserve collective memory and support families. The presentation of the video was organically complemented by a profound photo exhibition "Waiting Eyes", telling the stories of relatives of servicemen who are in enemy captivity. This advocacy initiative serves as a symbol of unwavering faith in the return of every defender of Ukraine.
