A delegation of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, led by Commander Major General Igor Plakhuta, held a working meeting with representatives of more than 20 countries and organizations belonging to the Kyiv Association of Military Attachés. The event took place at the 150th Training Center of the Territorial Defense Forces, which recently ranked third in the national ranking of training centers of the Ukrainian Defense Forces based on a survey in the Army+ application.
Training system in combat conditions
The main topic of the meeting was acquainting foreign diplomats with the current training system for Ukrainian servicemen amid a full-scale war. The TDF leadership presented guests with approaches to integrating real combat experience into the personnel training process. Participants discussed infrastructure development, the improvement of training methods, and the enhancement of instructor qualifications.
As Major General Igor Plakhuta noted, effective training requires soldiers not only to master theory but also to act cohesively in the constantly changing battlefield environment. The center trains not only territorial defense fighters but also representatives of the Ground Forces, Marine Corps, and Unmanned Systems Forces.
Mastering unmanned systems and robotic complexes
One of the key areas of the training process is countering enemy unmanned aerial vehicles and training drone operators. Foreign delegates were shown the practical work of the UAV pilot school and ground robotic complexes operating within the training center. KAMA representatives were able to personally assess the material and technical base and the level of equipment of the training units.
For most foreign military diplomats, this visit to the 150th training center was not their first, allowing them to dynamically assess the development and modernization of Ukrainian military training. The parties exchanged views on prospects for further interaction and experience exchange in military education.
Importance of international cooperation for the defense forces
Visits by delegations of this level emphasize the high interest of international partners in transforming the Ukrainian Armed Forces and adapting them to the challenges of modern war. The success of the 150th training center in national rankings and the attention of international observers confirm the effectiveness of the chosen course to reform personnel training. The acquired experience and strengthened partnerships contribute to the further development of the Ukrainian army and the enhancement of its defense capabilities.
