Ukrainian actor Ivan Blindar, in an interview with the lifestyle project Wave RBC.UA, shared personal recommendations for tourists planning a trip to Ivano-Frankivsk. According to him, to get a complete impression of the city, one should stay here for a few days rather than limiting the visit to a single day. "Indeed, I would strongly recommend coming for a few days and watching several plays," emphasized the actor, who himself performs in the troupe of the Frankivsk Drama Theater. He calls the theater the starting point for getting to know the city: in his opinion, the repertoire and atmosphere of the productions help visitors better understand the cultural code of Ivano-Frankivsk.

Frankivsk Drama Theater: the heart of the city's cultural life

The Frankivsk Drama Theater, where Blindar acts, is located at 42 Nezalezhnosti Street. The actor advises tourists not to limit themselves to a single performance, but to set aside time for several productions to form their own opinion about the local theater and its repertoire. "You can see a lot of cool activities there," he noted. Before planning the trip, the Wave RBC.UA editorial team recommends checking the current playbill and ticket availability on the theater's official website, as the repertoire changes from season to season.

"Promprylad.Renovation": where art meets entrepreneurship

The second key location highlighted by Blindar for exploring the city is the innovation center "Promprylad.Renovation," operating on the premises of a former factory at 23 Akademika Sakharova Street. This space combines contemporary art, educational programs, and entrepreneurial initiatives. The center regularly hosts concerts, theater performances, and masterclasses, making it a versatile venue for visitors with diverse interests. The Foodoteka food market also operates on the site, featuring cafes, a bakery, and other dining spots for a lunch break. Current working hours for individual establishments are published on the official Foodoteka website.

City Town Hall and free audio tours

Adding to the actor's recommendations, Wave RBC.UA suggests stopping by the city town hall at 4a Halytska Street, which houses the tourist information center. Here, tourists can use free audio guides with the tours "Mysterious Ivano-Frankivsk" and "Ivano-Frankivsk for Lovers." The audio tours are available in five languages, making them convenient for those who prefer exploring the city at their own pace without being tied to a group or guide. There are 166 steps leading up to the town hall's observation deck. According to the published schedule, the deck is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with the last ascent at 6:30 PM; Monday is a day off.

How to plan a weekend itinerary

For those planning a two-day trip, the editors suggest the following logic: on the first day, get acquainted with the theater and attend one of the performances; on the second day, take a walk by the town hall with an audio tour and explore the "Promprylad.Renovation" space. If staying through the weekend, a second theater performance can be scheduled for the following day, following Blindar's advice to experience multiple productions. This itinerary allows you to combine a cultural program with a leisurely stroll through the historic center and gain a multifaceted impression of Ivano-Frankivsk — from the stage to industrial heritage reimagined in a modern space.
