In Kryvyi Rih, the upgraded consultative-diagnostic center of City Hospital No. 3 has been opened following a major renovation. The facility serves approximately 101,000 residents. The project was jointly implemented by Metinvest Group, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, and the city administration. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing an official statement from Metinvest. The company allocated around UAH 125 million to the renovation and modernization of the institution.
What exactly was done at the hospital
During the reconstruction, the first floor of the building, the radiology and sterilization departments, were updated, and a modern shelter for 350 people was built. The medical facility was additionally equipped with computer and household appliances. After the completion of the main works, the plan is to renovate the surrounding area: the creation of a small park, a children's play zone, and the installation of art objects inspired by the works of Maria Primachenko, one of the key figures of the Ukrainian avant-garde whose name is closely tied to the cultural heritage of the region, are envisaged.
Medical capacity after the reconstruction
After the completion of the works, the center operates urology, surgery, dermatology, neurology, and ophthalmology offices, a clinical and diagnostic laboratory, a day hospital, and other departments. The consultative-diagnostic center can accept up to 290 patients daily across 10 specialized areas. The day hospital is designed for 22 beds; medical care is provided by 15 doctors and 22 nurses.
Safety and accessibility for all patients
"We approached this work in a systematic manner — from the design of the medical premises to the appearance of the building itself and the arrangement of accessible space for all patients, including people with disabilities," noted Alexander Myronenko, Managing Director of Metinvest Group. Nataliya Yemchenko, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, emphasized that the project aimed not simply to renovate the building but to create a safe and comfortable medical space: "The restoration of Ukraine begins with the health of its people. It is especially important to Rinat Akhmetov that Ukrainians receive quality medical care in modern and dignified conditions."
Kryvyi Rih as a hospital base and the overall investment program
The city administration emphasizes that the modernization is critically important, as Kryvyi Rih today serves as an important hospital base for the southern regions of Ukraine and receives, in particular, people who have moved to the city because of the war. Metinvest, in cooperation with the city authorities, is carrying out a comprehensive reconstruction of medical institutions in Kryvyi Rih: the company has also joined the major renovation of the main inpatient building of City Hospital No. 7. The total volume of the company's investments in these initiatives amounted to UAH 200 million. It was previously reported that Metinvest is expanding its floatation therapy training program to support children, adding Kryvyi Rih and Kamianske to the project in 2026.
