Today, August 29, Russia has been continuously attacking Kyiv with jet-powered drones since the early morning. According to RBC-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel of the capital's mayor Vitali Klitschko, a two-year-old girl was killed as a result of an enemy drone crash, and there are also injured people. This is already the third day in a row that the Russians have been massively and constantly striking Kyiv and the Kyiv region using jet-powered drones.
Casualties and Injured
As the mayor of Kyiv reported, in the Obolon district a drone crashed in an open area, damaging a nearby café premises. "A two-year-old girl died, injured in Obolon as a result of the crash of an enemy drone," Klitschko stated. According to him, at this point five injured people are known in the capital: four of them were provided with medical assistance on the spot, while one injured person — an 18-year-old woman — was hospitalized.
Geography of Strikes Across Districts
In addition to Obolon, the aftermath of the attack has been recorded in several districts of the city. In the Podil district, a drone hit an unoccupied building. In the Holosiivskyi district, the crash of a drone caused a fire on the roof of a two-story warehouse building — there were no casualties there. In the Sviatoshyn district, a fire in an apartment on the 9th floor of a residential building, caused by the fall of drone debris, was extinguished; and here, according to city hall data, no one was injured.
Enemy Tactics: Waves of Small Drones
According to Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), Russia is launching small numbers of jet-powered drones in waves at Kyiv, striving to paralyze the capital. In his assessment, the enemy does not have the resources for a large number of drones, and the main goal of such tactics is to exhaust the air defense forces and the population.

During the night and morning of August 29, as a result of the shelling of Kyiv, houses were damaged, an apartment caught fire, and there are injured people. Thus, strikes with jet-powered drones have been continuing for three days in a row, and the number of casualties and injured, according to morning data, may change as information from rescue services and city hall arrives.
