A new medical navigation tool has started operating in the capital of Ukraine — a chatbot called "Online Assistant of the Kyiv City Health Department". The initiative to create this digital service was launched by the Health Department of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA). The main goal of launching the platform is to maximize convenience for residents and guests of the city in finding medical services, making appointments with specialized doctors, and obtaining up-to-date information on the operation of municipal healthcare facilities.
Functional Capabilities and Service Ecosystem
The digital assistant is designed as a universal hub that combines disparate information into a single interface. According to Tetiana Mostepan, Director of the KCSA Health Department, the introduction of this bot is a logical continuation of the large-scale development of Kyiv's digital medical ecosystem. Now patients do not need to waste time monitoring dozens of different websites looking for hospital addresses, reception desk contact numbers, or correct action algorithms in emergency situations. The service is already demonstrating high popularity among citizens, providing instant access to verified data.
Streamlining Electronic Appointments and Accessibility
Parallel to the deployment of the chatbot, the relevant department, together with the heads of medical organizations, carried out extensive work to systematize and unify electronic appointment processes. All current links to online resources for booking appointments with doctors have been updated, and the reference database of available digital services has been standardized. Using the new tool is extremely simple: the chatbot operates on the basis of the popular Telegram messenger and is available around the clock for every user.
Prospects for Digitalization of Capital Healthcare
The development of such projects marks a new stage in increasing the transparency and efficiency of the city's healthcare infrastructure. The integration of modern communication channels makes it possible to reduce the burden on reception desks of medical institutions and minimize bureaucratic barriers. The city administration plans to further expand the functionality of the digital assistant taking into account user feedback and current needs of the healthcare system.
