From the night of September 10, 2026, four temporary night bus routes will begin operating in Kyiv, connecting the Central Railway Station with the capital's major residential districts. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration (Kyiv City Council). The launch of these special routes is directly linked to the shortening of curfew in Kyiv to the nighttime window from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., during which the buses will operate.
Schedule and boarding rules
Night buses will run from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., with an approximate headway of 60 minutes. In the opposite direction — from the residential districts to the Central Station — departures will be made earlier, in accordance with the approved schedule and boarding points. Boarding and alighting at stops will be on request. The Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City Council advises passengers to plan their trips in advance, taking the schedule into account, since the interval between services is quite long.
Four routes from the Central Station
The first route connects the Central Station with Darnytsia metro station and back, passing through Vokzalna Square, Symona Petliury Street, Saksahanskoho Street, Beresteiskyi Prospekt, Stepana Bandery Avenue, the Northern Bridge, Romana Shukhevycha Avenue, Krasnoi Kalyny Avenue, Lesnyi Prospekt, Brovarskyi Prospekt, Rusanska Naberezhna, the Paton Bridge, and Taras Shevchenko Boulevard. The second route leads to Myńska metro station and back, covering Akademika Palladyna Avenue, Svobody Avenue, Myńska Square, the Havanski Bridge, Khreshchatyk, and Taras Shevchenko Boulevard. The third route is directed toward Tuluzy Street and back, passing through Vozdushnykh Syl Avenue, Valeriia Lobanovskoho Avenue, Holosiivskyi Prospekt, Akademika Hlushkova Avenue, the Ring Road, Lesia Kurbasa Avenue, and Liubomyra Huzara Avenue. The fourth route runs from the Central Station to Pavla Tychyny Avenue and back.
Link with metro operating hours and curfew
According to RBC-Ukraine, the decision to launch four special bus routes is driven by the fact that curfew in Kyiv has been shortened to the period from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. It is officially emphasized that the night buses are meant to ensure the transport of passengers arriving in the capital by train during curfew hours, when regular surface transport is limited. In parallel, from September 10 the Kyiv metro will operate one hour longer, while the operating mode of the "green" line during air raids is being changed. Thus, the temporary night routes complement the extended metro service and cover the transport corridor between the station and outlying districts during the nighttime hours.
