On Friday, November 6, 2026, significantly tightened power outage schedules are in effect in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Depending on the district and specific address, residents are forced to remain without electricity from 12 to 16 hours a day, while continuous periods of power availability during daytime hours have been reduced to two to two and a half hours. For the majority of addresses, the total duration of outages exceeds half a day. According to RBC-Ukraine, the electricity supply situation in the capital is the most difficult after frontline zones: all three municipal thermal power plants (CHPs) have ceased generation due to damage and destruction caused by attacks on energy infrastructure.
Personal Schedules: No Single Timetable for Kyiv
When planning their day, Kyiv residents must take into account that the approach to publishing schedules in the capital is fundamentally different from the regional one. In Kyiv, there is no consolidated schedule for the entire city — each individual building or address has its own personal outage timetable. You can check your schedule via a chatbot, on the official website, in the Kyiv Digital app, as well as on the YASNO website or in the YASNO Mobile app. Judging by the personal schedules of metropolitan consumers, blackouts cover both daytime and nighttime hours, and electricity is supplied in short intervals: light "windows" last for two to two and a half hours.
Two-Wave Scheme: How Outage Blocks Are Distributed
Blackouts in Kyiv come in series. In the morning, the first block of outages begins at different times depending on the address: from 05:00 to 11:00, from 07:00 to 14:00, from 06:00 to 13:00, or from 04:00 to 11:00. In the second half of the day, the "second wave" begins: in some districts, there is no light from 14:00 to 22:00, in others from 17:00 to midnight, in third ones from 16:00 to 23:00 or from 13:00 to 21:00. A typical example: after being cut off from 04:00 to 11:00, electricity is supplied approximately from 11:00 to 13:00, after which consumers are cut off again until 21:00. Total — 14–15 hours in the dark. Residents receive light only in short breaks between lengthy seven-hour blackout blocks.
Kyiv Region: Single Timetable Across 12 Subgroups
In the Kyiv region, energy workers have published a single general schedule broken down into 12 subgroups (from 1.1 to 6.2). For the region on November 6, the situation is no less difficult: most subgroups remain without electricity from 12 to 16 hours a day, with outages lasting 7.5 hours in a row. In subgroups 5.1–6.2, blackouts occur in two large blocks — from 04:00 to 11:30 and from 14:30 to 22:00. Consumers in subgroup 4.1 remain without electricity from 00:30 to 08:00, again from 11:00 to 18:30, and late in the evening from 21:30 until the end of the day.
Causes: Consequences of Attacks and Generation Shutdown
The root of the current situation is the aftermath of attacks on energy infrastructure. Late in the evening on November 5, energy infrastructure in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region, was attacked using kamikaze drones. As a result of damage and destruction, all three Kyiv municipal CHPs stopped generation. The capital heavily depends on electricity supplies from other regions, and due to a lack of power capacity, electric transport traffic has already been suspended in the city. Energy Research Center Director Oleksandr Kharchenko previously commented on the worst-case scenario regarding the duration of outages in Kyiv and assessed the risks of simultaneous water and heating disruptions.
