Ukrainian mobile operator lifecell has officially announced a change in pricing policy for its client base. The updates affected the popular «Maxi» tariff package, the cost of which was revised upward for all citizens connecting to the network under new conditions. The changes came into effect on October 14, 2026.
Details of tariff changes for new users
According to an official statement from the company's press service, the price review is driven by objective market factors, infrastructure development, and the need to maintain stable communication quality amid continuous loads on the country's energy system and telecommunications networks. Now, new subscribers purchasing a starter package or switching to the «Maxi» tariff will pay for services according to updated rates.
Conditions for existing subscribers and saving opportunities
Despite the price increase for newcomers, the operator decided to protect the interests of its loyal audience. For subscribers already using the «Maxi» tariff plan, service conditions remain completely unchanged. Furthermore, the company has introduced a special loyalty program allowing users to lock in the current tariff price until the end of 2027, provided they pay for each subsequent service package on time.
Controversial data
While official representatives of lifecell and specialized media focus exclusively on targeted price increases for new connections while maintaining old conditions for the current base, some independent expert communities and social networks express concerns regarding potential hidden restrictions in other budget lines of the operator. Some observers refer to the experience of similar changes in the telecommunications market, suggesting that the general trend toward rising service costs could also affect pensioners, although no official confirmation or documentary evidence of such measures has been received from the company's management to date.
