French President Emmanuel Macron has strongly condemned the massive strike by Russian forces on the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, carried out in the center of Kyiv. The French head of state emphasized that the attack on the country's largest scientific institution clearly demonstrates the Kremlin's true attitude toward academic knowledge, research, and fundamental truth.

According to the French leader, such barbaric actions by the Russian authorities are clear evidence of a deep contempt for the scientific community and human values. Emmanuel Macron placed this incident alongside the daily brutal shelling of civilian infrastructure and peaceful Ukrainian citizens, expressing sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the injured.

Details of the Tragic Attack on Kyiv

Recall that on September 28 of this year, an enemy drone strike hit the NAS of Ukraine building directly in the capital. As a result of the impact and subsequent destruction, the death toll rose to two people. Among the dead was an assistant to former NSDC Secretary Volodymyr Horbulin, while Horbulin himself sustained minor injuries.

Ukraine's Leadership Reaction and Related Strikes

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky immediately reacted to the incident, reporting on the rescue operation deployed at the site and the search for people who might remain under the rubble. The Ukrainian head of state also promised a harsh and fair response to this terrorist act. It is worth noting that in those days the capital suffered complex attacks: in addition to the NAS, strikes hit gas stations, office buildings, the Dobrobut medical center, and the following night the city experienced ballistic missile shelling.

Commenting on the incident, Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed the unwavering course of Paris and the entire European community in supporting Ukraine. The French leader assured that France will stand shoulder to shoulder with the courageous Ukrainian people for as long as it takes to achieve a just peace and restore security on the continent.
