Pavlo Servetnyk, winner of the first season of the culinary show “MasterChef. Professionals” (2019), announced on Instagram the death of his brother Maksym, who died at the front at the age of 37. In a video message, speaking with tears in his eyes, the chef spoke about the defender's service and appealed to subscribers with a request to help the young child left without a father.

How Maksym Joined the Defense of the Country

According to Pavlo, his brother decided to join the military on his own and went to the enlistment office immediately after the liberation of his native Kherson from occupation. Over the years of service, Maksym survived numerous injuries, wounds, and concussions, and at one point even clinical death. Despite everything he went through, he returned to service and continued to defend Ukraine.

Awards and Personal Tragedy

For courage and bravery on the battlefield, Maksym received awards: “He has a breastplate for courage, and not just one,” Pavlo said. At the end of the appeal, the chef dedicated words of gratitude to his brother: “My brother has died. He was 37 years old. He has a young child left, who lives with his grandfather and grandmother. Thank you, Max, for everything.”

Help for the Family

After Maksym’s death, his young child was left without a father and is currently staying with his grandmother and grandfather. Pavlo launched a fundraiser and appealed to caring people with a request to support the family if they have such an opportunity.

The Path of the Chef from Kherson

Pavlo Servetnyk was born in Kherson and became famous in 2019 after winning the first season of “MasterChef. Professionals.” After the start of the full-scale invasion, he stayed in his hometown and during the occupation helped local residents: along with his team, he baked bread, which he distributed to people for free. Later, Servetnyk moved to the USA, where he continues to cook and develop his own projects.
