Microsoft has released a new experimental Windows 11 build as part of the Insider Preview program. This update brings major changes to the user interface, search system, as well as security tools and hardware resource monitoring for PCs.

New WinUI 3-Based Search

The primary technological innovation of this release is a completely redesigned system search built on the modern WinUI 3 framework. The interface features smoother animations, a modern visual style, and native support for built-in quick actions directly from the search bar. Additionally, developers introduced improved synonym recognition and typo correction algorithms, though the new search is initially available exclusively for English localization.

Power Management and Task Manager

Significant changes have also affected system widgets. Windows 11 now integrates a brand-new battery control widget that allows real-time tracking of the charge level for both the portable computer and all connected wireless peripherals. Concurrently, the Task Manager has received advanced process grouping capabilities: third-party and system apps can now merge disparate background tasks into unified categories for easier system load analysis. Microsoft Defender was the first to adopt this feature.

Font Integration and Security

Beyond major modules, the update brings numerous targeted improvements for daily use. A long-awaited feature for quick preview and installation of new fonts in one click has been added to the context menu of File Explorer and the desktop. Engineers also redesigned the PIN entry screen for security keys, cleaning the interface from redundant visual elements and iconography to enhance security and minimalism.

Controversial Data

While Microsoft's official technical releases emphasize the revolutionary nature of the WinUI 3 updates and Task Manager enhancements, industry experts and users diverge in assessing the stability of early Insider builds. Part of the community reports increased RAM consumption during the first hours after installing the update, while other tests demonstrate record-breaking search engine response speeds. The corporation itself has not yet published official statistics on stability bugs while continuing to gather telemetry from Insider Preview participants.
