Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk has officially become a player of London's Tottenham. The 25-year-old footballer will play for the "Spurs" on loan from Chelsea for the 2026/27 season. The transfer was announced on the last day of the transfer window, which adds extra intrigue to the deal and underscores the urgency of the negotiations between the two London clubs.
Deal terms: loan and an €88 million buyout option
The loan agreement covers the entire 2026/27 season, meaning Mudryk will take part in Premier League matches and cup competitions throughout the whole football year. In addition to the loan terms, Tottenham has secured a buyout option for the Ukrainian footballer at €88 million. This means the London club can make the transfer permanent if Mudryk delivers the expected level of play. For Chelsea, who bought the winger from Donetsk's Shakhtar in 2021 for €113 million, this deal structure allows them to retain part of the investment value without taking on the risk of long-term commitments.
Reunion with Roberto De Zerbi: a return to the coach who discovered Mudryk
The move to Tottenham means Mudryk is returning to work with Roberto De Zerbi, who managed Donetsk's Shakhtar in the 2021/22 season. It was under the Italian specialist's guidance that the Ukrainian became one of the team's key players and attracted the attention of Europe's top clubs. De Zerbi knows Mudryk's capabilities well thanks to their time working together and, according to him, expects the winger to help the "Spurs" with his pace and strong one-on-one play.
