According to the Naftogaz Group, 37 gas stations (GSS) owned by state companies were completely destroyed by shelling and strikes this year. The situation in the fuel market remains critical. The company's statement clarifies that the fate of the facilities varied: some gas stations were repaired and returned to operation despite damage. However, other objects suffered critical destruction, making their operation impossible at this time.
Statistics for the last seven months demonstrate the systematic nature of the attacks. The Russian army struck 32 GSS of the state company 'Ukrnafta' and five complexes of 'Ukrgazdobycha'. Experts highlight the practice of repeated attacks as a particularly alarming fact: enemy forces strike facilities even after they have been restored and resumed operations.

Representatives of 'Naftogaz' emphasize that gas stations are not just commercial points but a vital part of civilian infrastructure. Thousands of Ukrainians use gas station services daily, and their lives depend directly on fuel availability.
The problem becomes particularly acute in frontline regions. There, the availability of fuel becomes a matter of survival for emergency services, municipal transport, medical teams, and rescuers. 'The enemy knows this well, which is why they try to complicate people's lives and leave communities without critically necessary resources,' the statement notes.
History of Losses Over 12 Years of War
The losses in 2026 continued a long-term trend. Over more than 12 years of war, the state 'Ukrnafta' network has lost a total of 123 gas stations due to Russian attacks. The geography of losses is extensive: 67 of these objects remain in temporarily occupied territories. The others were destroyed by artillery and aviation or were forced to cease operations due to their immediate proximity to the combat zone.
Attacks on the energy sector continue with high intensity. It was previously reported that Russia struck 'Naftogaz' gas production facilities in the Kharkiv region for three days in a row. Mass attacks on the holding's facilities were also recorded in three regions of Ukraine at once.
